Mission: CAPS Northland Incorporated, known locally as Jigsaw North Manaaki Whanau provides support to more than 450 families, individuals and children every year. At Jigsaw North we understand that parenting is the most important job and it is vital for parents to be well supported and resourced with parenting knowledge, skills and understanding. We provide our services free of charge to remove one of the barriers to accessing support and assistance for whanau. Where we can, we offer a wrap-around service of counselling, social work and parenting education, so that families that require it, can be involved with our services over a longer period of time. We find this works particularly well to make sustained change. Our whakatauki Poipoia te kākano kia puāwai – Nurture the seed and it will grow demonstrates the support we offer to whānau to enable them to thrive and our communities to flourish.
