Mission: To provide world-class coaching to middle and distance running athletes of all ages and abilities from throughout New Zealand, but particularly within the Nelson/Tasman region. Particular emphasis is placed on secondary school athletes where, not only are they encouraged to achieve as high a standard as possible, but also to learn life skills to become successful citizens. In September 2021, the Academy’s coach, Greg Lautenslager, returned to the United States permanently leaving the Academy without its coach. It was decided at a meeting of the trustees on 21 August 2021 that the National Academy of Distance Running Charitable Trust be placed in recess for a period of up to 2 years before any decision is made regarding winding it up. Yearly reviews should be made by the trustees and the Secretary-Treasurer is to ensure that all legal obligations of the Trust be met during that period.
