Rongowhakaata Iwi Trust

RIT is a charitable entity responisible for developing and implementing initiatives to improve the wellbeing of Rongowhakaata iwi. The purpose is to receive, manage, administer and apply the Trust’s assets on behalf and for the benefit of present and future members of Rongowhakaata. The Trust is essentially responsible for developing and implementing a range of interventions and initiatives on behalf of its Iwi members and has an integral part to play in improving the social, cultural, environmental and economic wellbeing of our Iwi. Pivotal to achieving our goals is the successful completion of our negotiations with the Crown to settle the Turanganui-a-Kiwa Treaty of Waitangi Claims.
