Sector Benchmarking Dashboard
ICNPO sector analysis across 28,908 charities (90% ICNPO classified)
Methodology
Sector classification uses the International Classification of Nonprofit Organizations (ICNPO) taxonomy where available (90% coverage), falling back to the Charities Register's sector field.
Percentile benchmarks show the interquartile range (P25–P75) with median (P50) markers, enabling charities to understand where they sit relative to sector peers.
Revenue composition is calculated from the latest financial return per charity. Categories: government grants, donations/bequests, service/trading income, investment income, and other.
Size bands: Micro (<$100K), Small ($100K–$1M), Medium ($1M–$10M), Large ($10M–$50M), Very Large (>$50M) — classified by most recent annual revenue.
Sectors with fewer than 5 charities are excluded. Ratings use the CharityData v3.1.1 methodology. Data sourced from Charities Services annual returns.
