MCK updates guest vaccination policies.

In light of the Government’s changes to the Covid Protection Framework announced

last week, MCK has updated its policies relating to guests who stay or visit their

hotels.

--From 5 April 2022, vaccine passes will no longer be required to be presented at

MCK’s hotels, restaurants / bars and meeting venues;

--QR codes for the NZ Covid Tracer App will still be available at hotel reception areas

for scanning if guests wish but as these are no longer required, this will become

voluntary;

In terms of vaccine mandates going forward, MCK’s Vice President Operations Ken

Orr said that MCK’s staff would be consulted on their views about whether to

continue with the current policy.

“Having a mandate in place which was brought in after a consultation process with

our employees has been very helpful in maintaining confidence within our teams and

also with our guests. Given that New Zealand is now a very highly vaccinated

country and overseas visitors will still be required to be fully vaccinated and tested

before arrival, we have a level of confidence that a future mandate may not be

necessary but this is something we want to discuss with our teams first after revising

our risk assessments”, he said.
