MOVE ANNOUNCES NEW LEADERSHIP FOR SECTOR SPECIFIC ROLES
Transport and logistics group, MOVE Logistics Group Limited (NZX: MOV), is pleased to announce the
appointment of two experienced industry executives to lead new sector-specific strategies within
the organisation.
MOVE has identified sectors which it believes offer significant value and the opportunity to grow
market share through the delivery of an end to end supply chain solution from a trusted and
reputable provider.
Scott Crampton and Dale Slade have been appointed to head up the Dairy and Oceans sectors
respectively. They will work closely with MOVE’s Freight and Contract Logistics divisions to create
responsive, innovative solutions for their customers’ specific freight and logistics needs. This
approach supports MOVE’s philosophy to be ‘a partner, not just a provider’ for its customers.
Scott Crampton, General Manager Dairy
Scott Crampton has quantifiable experience and success
in the logistics industry, with a key focus on the New
Zealand dairy sector. Scott has been in logistics for the
past 20 years, with the last 15 years at Hilton Haulage
with the majority of this as CEO. He brings with him a
wealth of knowledge and experience in business growth,
building high performing teams and providing end-to-end
logistics solutions to a great array of export clients
throughout New Zealand and Australia.
The new strategic direction of MOVE includes a more
dedicated, integrated, and defined focus on the
independent dairy sector to provide next level solutions in
a very challenging and changeable supply chain
environment. With only a small number of providers
offering an end-to-end supply chain service to this sector,
MOVE is well positioned to provide a strong offer,
building tailored solutions around clients by utilising its
national, multi-modal freight network, fleet diversity, warehousing capacity, and export capability to
integrate with their supply chain requirements.
Scott says he was attracted to the transformational thinking and clear vision of the Board and
management team and is excited about working with a company where the priority is on execution
and delivering better outcomes for both current and new customers.
Dale Slade, General Manager Oceans
Dale Slade has been appointed as General Manager for MOVE
Oceans, taking over the role from Marty Byrne. Dale has been
working for MOVE for the past two years and has been extensively
involved in the development of the new MOVE Oceans service
offering.
The company has recently been awarded $10 million in co-funding
from Waka Kotahi to support its coastal shipping strategy and
Dale’s immediate focus is on the acquisition, refitting and
mobilisation of a quarter-ramp Roll On/Roll Off (RORO) vessel
which will enable a new sea bridge between Nelson and New
Plymouth.
MOVE has been involved in the shipping industry through its
shipping agency, Hooker Shipping in New Plymouth, which was
founded in 1883. Dale will be building on Hooker’s heritage to
extend MOVE’s market presence and deliver innovative freight
solutions for customers.
Prior to MOVE, Dale lived and worked in Papua New Guinea for a
number of years as commercial line manager for a shipping company.
Executive Director of MOVE, Chris Dunphy, said: “Scott's appointment, as with other recent hires,
adds to MOVE's brains-trust. We now have a diverse group of talent that can greatly accelerate our
growth plans as well as ensuring our executive resource is well-spread nationally. Dale is a great
example of the leadership strength within our business and his appointment reflects our focus
creating opportunities for valued team members.”
