Herrick St and Taradale Rd Culvert Upgrade

Napier City Council are looking to engage a main civil contractor to upgrade two culverts within the city. Identified in our Stormwater Masterplan these works are intended to address known capacity constraints in the downstream network during heavy rainfall events. From the first Registration of Interest we have confirmed a skilled and experienced shortlist that we are now inviting to submit a Tender. The Tender focuses on price and methodology, in particluar: 1. Traffic management 2. Effective management of surface and ground water 3. Culvert construction 4. Management of high-risk and critical services crossing deep excavations. This tender is for two Separable Portions, SPI Taradale Road Culvert, SP2 Herrick Street Culvert. IMPORTANT NOTE: The foundation design for Taradale Culvert will be issued within two weeks via NTT, further information is included in the RFT section 1.8.

New Plymouth District Council requires a suitably qualified and experienced civil contractor with the capability and capacity to deliver road construction services for Site 3 as part of the Tarata Road Resilience Programme. The successful contractor must demonstrate both capability and capacity to complete the project using machine control technology (graders and excavators). All works are required to be completed within the specified timeframe, between October and 19 December 2025.
