Tīmatanga Hou Programme

The Project consists of an intensive 20-week work-readiness programme targeted at Kaikōura based rangatahi who are most at risk of long term unemployment. The programme is based on protocols of tikanga Māori and will engage 36 rangatahi (3 cohorts of 12) over 24 months, including pastoral care provided after the course for between 9 and 12 months depending on individual needs. It includes forklift training, first aid certificate, site safe training, CV preparation, Māori performing arts, outdoors pro-social activities, development of individual Pathway Plans and workplace visits.
