Blackwater Gold Mine Exploration Project

To develop two underground tunnels and ancillary infrastructure to the base of the historic Blackwater gold mine on the West Coast near Reefton - including exploration work to assess the potential to develop a new modern underground mine.

Construction of Kawatiri Coastal Trail

To construct a grade 2 family friendly 42 km walking and cycling trail between Charleston and Westport in the Buller District of the West Coast.

Masterplan for Oparara Basin

To undertake a number of infrastructure upgrades including the restoration of cultural interpretation signage and panels - on the walking tracks, carparking and toilet facilities, valley viewing area and the access road.

Ultra Fast Broadband Mobile Sites for Tourism

To extend and improve the mobile coverage on the West Coast.

Rural Broadband/Mobile Blackspots - West Coast

To install broadband infrastructure in rural New Zealand and reduce black spot areas along state highways.

Upgrade of Croesus Road, Blackball

To widen Croesus Road at Blackball to accommodate increased vehicle and cycle traffic resulting from the Paparoa Great Walk and Pike 29 Memorial Track under construction by Department of Conservation.

He Kākano, He Ngahere, He Wai Ora restoration

To protect and restore the indigenous riparian, wetland and forest habitat and biodiversity of the Arahura River.

West Coast Regional Employment Scheme

To deliver an employment and training program that is targeted at employer skills shortages across the three Council areas on the West Coast so that new and existing employees are connected to employer job openings.

Westport Airport - Critical Infrastructure resilience

As a result of Cyclone Fehi 700m, of the 850m seawall collapsed, this project seeks to rebuild this wall

Punakaiki Land Restoration Project
