Environment Southland - Invercargill and Oreti Flood Resilience Stopbank Upgrades

Strengthening and remediation of stopbanks in the Invercargill and Oreti flood protection schemes. Key works include site preparation, remediation of contaminated sites, rock armouring, flood wall construction, gravel and vegetation management, and upgrades to the Otepuni and Oreti stopbanks.

Gore Public Library – Major Refurbishment (IRG)

The project will re-house the Gore Public Library within the James Cumming Wing Community Centre building. Converting the entire ground floor of the James Cumming Wing (approx. 1224 m2) into a modern library and modernise the first-floor community rooms and supporting facilities (approx. 508 m2). This refurbishment project will effectively accomplish two pending Council projects: the Library will be adequately rehoused, and the James Cumming Wing community rooms, which is very dated in both layout and décor, will be upgraded.

To employ a pastoral care and navigator team in Gore, to support in upskilling people in one-on-one pastoral care, service referrals, whanau support and social media engagement.
